Solid Structures served as the general contractor for the relocation of the Lexington County Coroner’s Office to Red Bank Crossing in Lexington, South Carolina. The project transformed 10,795 square feet within an existing commercial building into a highly specialized public safety facility designed to support the Coroner’s Office, its investigative responsibilities and the families it serves.

The renovated facility includes administrative offices, deputy coroner workspaces, a conference and multipurpose room, family meeting areas, a children’s room and expanded storage. Specialized operational spaces include a new autopsy suite, anthropology lab and office, body cooler and freezer, evidence-processing areas, medicine and scene storage, and a secure sallyport.

The adaptive-reuse project required selective demolition, structural modifications, new interior construction and coordinated improvements across the architectural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire protection and security-related scopes. Completed in 2026, the project demonstrates Solid Structures’ ability to transform existing commercial properties into purpose-built government facilities where technical coordination, operational functionality and respect for the people using the space are equally important.
